GENERAL MEETING AGENDA

January 17th, 2021

         I.            CALL TO ORDER: 6:02 pm

      III.            APPROVAL OF LAST MEETING MINUTES: June 2020   Motion:  Scott  2nd: Matt Hickey

       V.            NEW BOARD AND EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE:   New Board member – Kelly Beltz, New Executive Board President – Pres, Mike Mills – VP  Secretary Randy Fry  Treasurer  Rhett Merchant

     VI.            OLD BUSINESS

                                                               i.      Equipment Collection – Last call from 2020 Season.   Reminder to coaches to return equipment from last year if they have not done so already.  Brandon Koser is the equipment manager so if you have items please email Dave Bulbin and Matt Hickey

                                                             ii.      Lights update – Musco – red’d grant from state to replace Senior field lights.  In the process of purchasing the lights as we determine how to fund the lights.   Dave mentioned any idea’s on fundraising to let us know.

   VII.            EVENT CALENDAR REVIEW

A.       Registration to stay open till Feb 6th  -

B.       In person payments January 30th and Feb 6th

C.       Tryout – MVP Feb 13th and 27th  - if players are changing divisions they will need to try out.  Additional details to be sent out via email.

D.      Cleanup day planned for Saturday April 10th

E.       Opening Day is April 24th

 

  VIII.            NEW BUSINESS

                                                               i.      Registration Update

1.       Teams

a.       Tee Ball – first time for tee ball as an option for a few years.  4 to 5 teams of 6 kids

b.       Coach pitch – 4 teams of 10 (2 more kids needed) – typically 7 to 9 year olds.

c.        AAA – 3 teams of 11

d.       Majors – 3 teams of 12

e.       50/70 – 1-2 teams

f.         Seniors – 4 teams of 11 (1 more needed)  

g.       Minor Softball – 2 Teams of 11 (1 more needed)

h.       Major Softball –  2 Teams of 11

i.         Junior Softball – 4 players signed up

2.       Interleague play 2021 spring season – outlined details on moving to interleague play as the number of players decrease in our league for minor and major baseball divisions.   Expectation is travel time should be within 25 minutes of Danville.  As we have more details we will provide to the group after the District meeting which occurs in March. 

                                                             ii.      Volunteer Needed for the upcoming season

1.       Managers and Assistants – primarily need tee ball/ minor division for major and softball

2.       Concession management – looking for primary individual to run concessions and or help with concessions should let us know.

3.       NCSA softball tournament Weekend of May 1st   - we are in need of volunteers to help assist.  Reach out to Matt Hickey or Dave Bulbin if you are available to assist.

4.       Danville will be hosting 9-10-11 District 13 All-Stars – TBD – will be in need of volunteers as soon as we know the dates of the tournament.

                                                            iii.      Payment and Raffle Collection - Jan 30th and Feb 6th

1.       Families will receive green and yellow tickets – when payments are made you will receive green,  yellow tickets will be handed out for extra fund raising tickets.  If you can sale additional tickets for our league would be greatly appreciated.  Additional details to follow with regards to where payments will be collected.

2.       Ticket collection will be planned for Spring Cleanup day on April 10th

                                                            iv.      Tryouts: Feb 13th and 27th at MVP clubhouse – appears it will be 5 to 7.  If the player is moving divisions they are required to try out.

                                                              v.      District Meeting – Update from 1/10 – no major items from the district meeting however they plan on moving forward with leagues this year.  The plan is to run all the tournaments as a normal league year.

                                                            vi.      ASAP Safety Plan for 2021 -

1.       COVID mitigation – will have a detailed in place just like last year which allowed us to complete our season last year.  Additional details will be sent out however the importance of being careful is extremely important to allow us to complete the season.

Breakout sessions did not occur based on the complexities of the zoom meeting but the plan is to finalize coaches over the next few weeks

Questions:   Tyler Kazar asked who he could reach out to help coach.   Board indicated he will be listed as a coach.
